I'm trying to decide on a cam for my stock 74 360. I would like something snappier than stock, maybe make it run stronger than the Little Red Express did. Any suggestions from you smallblock guru's? The car is 67 Valiant 2dr post, automatic, headers, stock TQ intake, and 3.91's. This is something to cruise in for the summer, next winter I will build a warmer 360. Better compression, heads, cam, intake, etc... Thanks

comp XE262, works very good in my 5th ave....since you're car is lighter, with more gear (3.91 vs my 3.55's) you could maybe go an XE268, and reuse it when you build a new bottom end with better pistons.

Just finished my '78 360 build with MP 231 (.484 lift, 284 duration) cam. Test drive yesterday was disappointing at bottom end. Really strong feeling above 3000 though. More testing and tuning today.

I was'nt impressed with the m.p. 484 cam at all in one of my 340's...a great cam for your 360 would be the Lunati 60402 .475/.494 cam you'll need more then a stock converter to get everything out of it...

P4452761 is a great cam.
268/272, .450/.455" lift, 5o * overlap. Nice for street.

Another vote for the xe268 comp. A little room to grow if you want to do upgrades in the future.

Not sure who made it, but mine is a 443/465 lift, 280/290 advertised duration, 61 overlap with a 107 lobe center... Holley 4BBL, Offy intake, TTI headers... stock mad max gears out back. It's a little sluggish off the line but it pulls great and even once it's spooled up...

I know a lot of guys on this sight arent real big fans of Dave H., but personalities aside, the Hughes #HEH1523AL is a very good grind for street small blocks. Good idle with lots of low end torque.

Sounds like the Speed Pro CS-1019R cam I have in my Dart. 288/298 214/224 at .050 .443/.465 107/117 cl's.
It's really nice, easy idle with some lope. Nothing crazy. It's definitely not a hot camshaft though.
The xe268 is a nice stick for a slightly hotter than stock build.

Nice little cam is a Crower 267 HDP. Nice lope but not radical with good vacume. lotsa low end and pulls well to 5500 or so. 267/271 split with 475/485 lift. real torqy cam. Am still running it on my street 360 in the 67 Coronet. To use good springs and get rid of the exhaust rotators if so equipped. No matter what cam you choose. PS: will run good with stock compression too. Been there.
