My 69 Charger project is in need of speakers. I had an AM radio with a front speaker. Does any one have a picture of what the speaker looked like and mounted to? Mine was all cobbed up and wired in place. I think it should be a 4 x 10. I picked up an AM-FM factory radio as well as the rear speaker switch and wiring. What size rear speaker does it use and what side does it mount on? Lastly where is a good source for a factory look and fit speakers.

The front is a 4X10 as you mentioned. There are a few available on eBag and there are some that actually have two smaller speakers in the 4X10 housing that sound decent (I have one in my Cuda). When buying rears, be careful of the seemingly millions of 6X9 speakers out there now as just about all are 4 ohm, and the factory radios require 8 ohm speakers, and those seem pretty tough to find. I read something about that using the lower resistance (4ohm) can damage parts of the circuitry in the OE radio, however I'm not an authority on OE radios. Good luck! up

Thanks. I was aware that they should be 8 ohm's. Is the rear 6 x 9 for sure? I was hoping to find new as long as they fit and work correctly.

The rears are 6X9 in my 69 Road Runner, and were also the same in my 70 GTX. I believe if you have a rear window defroster, the orientation my be different, but the speaker size is still the same.

What was used on the front speaker mount plate to dash? It looks like some sort of seal. The plate I have has some gooey residue on it.
