Getting ready to take the front end apart on my 71 duster and wanted to detail it up with the correct colors. Any one have any good pictures of a nicely restored front end. Want to make sure I paint the front end parts the right colors. Also what would be the correct color for a 340 engine in 71, blue or orange? I think I've seen them both ways? I'd like to spray the motor out with a paint gun any one know of a good paint to go with or color code for it so I can go down to my local auto paint store and pick some up. Thanks any help.

Thanks for the bump. I guess I'll just do it up like the cuda we just did. Wasn't sure if they were detailed up any different, never really detail an a body front end before. Any help on what color to paint the motor for a 71 duster would be awesome, thanks.

I'm pretty sure a 71 340 would be orange.

340's were orange in early 71 production and blue in later production, the currently accepted "official" change over date was about April 1st 1971 although some cars are now know from late March 71 SPD's as having originally had blue engines. What's your cars SPD?

Cool, thanks guys. It's for my 71 wedge clone that I'm doing up. Not that big of a deal for that car just wanted it to look as correct as I can for a wedge clone. That's explains why I've seen both colors on 71's. I think I'll go with hemi orange as I think it'll look better on a black car
