I put a Denso # 210 0106 60 amp on my race car. Pulley it to run max rpm at your rev limit for decent results. Since i don't have a lot of draw on my system it works great. The wiring is very simple. I used spade connecters at the alternater rather than the 3 wire teeminal sold for the alternater. One wire goes to switched 12v and one to the charging side of the alternater if you run a very large zero loss output to battery. Otherewise you need to go seperately to battery so you get true voltage the alternater is sending to the battery. I used #4 welding cable to make sure i had a zero loss from output lug to battery +. Whether it will do the job or not for you depends on your setup. I run a big radiater fan some, an electric water pump, MSD7 a fan for me and other gadgets like airshifter , box, and tail light. The battery stayed at full charge all day.

If you have fuel injection, high compression, or big fan and fuel pump the mini is the wrong choice. Mine is rewound for 75 amp. It also has a pulley to speed it up to nearly 3-1. It still needs recharging nearly every round. Also running 2 batteries. Doug

I had a 90 amp Powermaster one wire alternator on mine for a long time. It worked OK, but at the track it couldn't keep up. I do have a big electric fuel pump, water pump, and big electric fan that I run a lil while w/ the engine off to cool it down. Had the local auto electric shop build me a slightly bigger frame alternator that's supposed to be putting out 115+ amps. I know it works much better. He told me that there was no way the Powermaster was putting out the claimed 90 amps...more like 80 when he tested it.
My thinking is if you're gonna run your cooling system b/t rounds to cool it down...either get a BIG alternator or don't bother w/ one at all and just use a charger.

I have that bracket on a 383 and used this alternator. It's a70 amp alternator, but there should be a 90 amp one that you could use. FYI, this is a nice looking alt. bracket, but I ended up making my own timing pointer that I installed in the slot on the bracket that was intended for a crank trigger sensor. If I did it over again, I'd look for other options. https://www.autozone.com/batteries-...ufactured-alternator-14903/5752_480818_0

I used a Denso unit from a 1990 Toyota pick-up and it works perfectly. I mounted it low on Andy's motor plate and wired it up like Greg did but when I salvaged it off the truck I took the connector with it. It charges a constant 14.8 volts at idle and keeps my battery charged all the time. Gus
