my 70 hemicuda is now running an electronic Mopar distributor with the orange box and a black distributor cap. I want to improve its appearance and istall the orange box under the battery tray. Also, want to change the cap to tan. Are the distributor cap all the same? I mean if an electronic distributor has the same cap as a points type distributor cap: I have the orignal cap and wires, so would love to use them. Thank you

One more thing to do is paint the dist black, most people don't know the difference

An original Hemi DP Prestolite Distributor uses a different cap then the Chrysler SP and Electronic distributor. So if your original is a Prestolite, no the cap won't work on the Chrysler one.
