I am on my second set of Mickey Thompson 295/65-25 drag radials which see both track and hiway use. And once again these are about as round as an egg. One is as bad as I have ever seen. I have tried to find a tire shaver within reasonable driving distance, but haven't found one.
I like the 295 size on the Cuda, but would consider other sizes, if necessary. So, what other tires have anyone had luck with? Ones that both hook AND won't shake your fillings out.
Thanks!
Master, again and still

I've owned and used three different sets of the older M/T ET Street radials, 2 sets of 325x6015 and 1 set of the 295x65 ??(CRS)x15, none oft hem where out of round, that I noticed I mount and balance all my race tires in my shop on a old mechanical machine and then use a bubble balancer to balance them, no noticeable problems on any of them Have you ran them on the car on jack stands to measure how much out of round they are? If so how much are you seeing? If there more than a 1/4 inch I would be sending them back for a exchange I did have one set of drag tires, Firestone 12.25x31x15W that where horribly out of round, I bought them from the Parnelli Jones west coast race tire warehouse on a close out sell as is they where old and junk to boot, so much for me buying race parts due to the price being cheap, especially race tires

I've never had this issue, but I haven't bought a set of these tires in about 4 years either. I never balance mine either and have no vibration issues. I bought a new set in 2016 I think (295-65), then a local had some for sale that didn't fit his car, so I bought them too. I'm still rolling on the old school design...not the new ones since they changed up the M/T tire design. Possible this is only an issue w/ the new tires?

I`ve gone thru about 10 sets between my brothers old car and mine. Never a complaint till this set I bought in August for mine. Left tire is so OVAL the car goes up and down like a broken belt. Probably 3/8ths runout eye balling it on jackstands. Luckily they only last a few months anyway...........
