Putting in a manual valve body , question is should I discard accumulated spring and put a blocker rod in . Thanks

If you want to risk blowing the rear clutch seals and stripping the front planet splines, by all means do so. If not, install the spring and forget the blocker.

Some RMVB's don't feed the accumulator so, in that case, the point is moot.

how can you tell if the VB doesn't feed the accumulator ?
especially if the VB is an unknown, or forgotten, brand ?

If separator plate covers the accumulator bore then it does not utilize (feed) the accumulator piston. See attached pics.

Blue plate with cadmium plated reinforcement plate covers the accumulator bore. Second picture shows open circular area below piston bore.

Attach a picture of the valve body if possible.
