The track has been there close to 40 years. Now some neighbors and the former owner are complaining? And the judge goes with them? BS

Mayfield residents upset about noise at the track?????????? Really????????? I could see this being a problem in Oakland County but Lapeer??????????? Are there crazy horse ladies in close proximity to the track????? Maybe they would complain?????? Last time I was at Lapeer Dragway it was surrounded by cornfields???? Are the well to do residents of Oakland County moving north of 69 ???????

My last two trips into Lapeer County were some of the loudest visits in years!!! Lot's of Yo's with very loud Harley's on Lapeer road and no less than 5 early 90's pick up trucks with 12'' lift kits bearing the Confederate flag installed next to the 6'' exhaust stack while rolling coal down Lapeer road...... I think you get my point...

The track was there way before these Mayfield residents moved in to escape the higher taxes in Oakland County.. Not happy with the noise? Move to Bloomfield hills, Rochester or Birmingham!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. The tracks been there since 1968. Not sure about the neighbors, but if they moved in knowing a race track was just down the road or near by, then that's their fault. The new owner bought some shipping containers to stack for noise reduction. Must not have been enough. Reaper has a long post on facebook about an event he had at Lapeer. Looks like their was some sabotage involved. Seems who ever scheduled this event did not post the correct start time and who ever was at the gate that day was turning people around as Reaper said he seen people coming thru the gate and then leaving. Reaper thinks the old owners son had something to do with that as he still works for the track. I don't have all the details, but looks to me like the old owner is a bit jealous of the improvements at the track and has now ganged up with the track neighbors to shut it down. What a shame.

Lapeer is having their Grudge racing shoot out on Sunday. I may head out there to check it out and win some money.

I'm the same distance from Lapper and Milan and have been going to Lapeer this year. He has really turned the place around. It's really a shame...
