I’m thinking of swapping out the cross ram intake on the 512 in my 63 Dodge for a single 4 barrel intake, and running a Holley Sniper TB set up I have. Thinking of giving the car some better street manners. The heads are 440Source Stealths that have been reworked by MCH to MW sized intake ports. As far as I can tell, the currently available single 4 barrel intakes with MW ports are limited to the Super Victor with a 4500 carb, and the Indy I4 single plane or the Indy 2D dual plane. I want to stay with the 4150 carb base, so would have to run an adapter on the Victor. I have a spare hood for my car, so don’t mind cutting a hole in it, but the whole set up would have to clear the repro MW hood scoop. Which intake would you recommend?

The rest of my set up is 10.5 to 1 comp, 252/260 street solid roller cam. With the cross ram and reproduce MW exhaust manifolds, it made 613hp at 5800rpm. I will now also be running a set of 2” primary TTI headers and 3” full exhaust. 4000rpm stall converter, 727, and 4.11 S60 rear.

If I went with the INDY 2D with deep port matching, would I be leaving much hp on the table, compared to the Indy I4?

I do not recommend the dual plane intake with TBI injection , go for the SP intake

A 440-2 is probably the best choice for you. The Indy dual plane would also work but I think the 440-2 is a better option. The Indy intakes that I've seen lately don't look very good coming out of the box so you will most likely need to do some port match work. If you're not set up for that then buy the intake from Hughes and have them do their deep port match. That way when you open the box it will bolt on and be ready to go.

Might be worth trying to hunt down a MP 337 manifold.

P4876337

Made for exactly what you have.
Non-raised MW port heads.

Yeah I agree, the 337 is a great intake but they don't come up for sale very often. The 337 would be perfect for the Stealth heads since it would also seal the valley. That saves you with some hassle there by getting rid of the valley plate issue. I do have MW size batwings that will work with a billet valley cover with the Stealth heads but the 337 is a simple solution if you can find one.

I don't mind having to run a valley cover, and I think my chances of finding a 337 manifold are slim, especially in my part of the world. I think I will go with the 440-2 manifold, and have Hughes deep port match it.

Andy, what are your part numbers for the batwings and valley cover that suit the Stealth MW port heads on an RB block?

AR182A for the valley plate and AR397 for the MW size batwings. I don't think the AR397 batwings are on the website but Mazzolini Racing stocks them.

I used Andy's stock port batwings , fitted great . I used the Trickflow plate , has removable centre . Also recommend seeing if Superformance do the various thickness intake gaskets like their standard port ones . Helps to juggle alignment and reduce cutting intake by buying a few sets . You use a gasket each side of the batwing . As to an intake you could be surprised , ask around on the facebook Aus Mopar pages .
oh , I almost forgot . I think the 4150 Victor may have enough meat to open up . I know the standard port Super Victor , 4500 , does . . I can look later on mine if you want . I don't think the M1 will , can check that as well

Thanks for that info Tex.

The Trickflow valley plate says it only fits with raised port heads like the TF270's, not sure if it would work with my Stealths.

Slantman ,
I ran Source heads with the TF plate . BUT you will need to run Andys batwings to help seal it correctly .
