lets see if I can ask without sounding to much like an idiot lol. I know timing covers are different between a truck and car, but are they different between a 5.7, 6.1 and 6.4? my dilemma is I have a 5.7 with a car timing cover. it could really really use a motor plate. I have a 6.4 block that's in the works and will absolutely need a plate. can I buy one plate to fit the 5.7 and then use it on the 6.4 down the road? third question where can I buy one or two if that's the answer? smile I also still need to buy a timing cover for the 6.4 if anybody has a suggestion on finding one. added info is I currently use Schumacher mounts, but engine roll from the torque is a couple inches. way to much!

5.7 pre eagle and 6.1 same cover will work with either the 6.4 post eagle 5.7 have VVT and the cover is different the distance from the block to the water pump is thicker on the 6.4 vs the others the AEI cover bolts to the water pump area and would be further forward on the 6.4. With that said I am not sure if you could put the 6.4 cover on the 5.7/6.1 and make one set of mounts on the frame..

perfect. thanks! I could use the same plate on both motors. would seem easy enough to move the mounts on the frame or add a spacer when I go to the 6.4

The VVT covers will work on the pre eagle engines, but the Non VVTs won't work on the VVT engines. The VVT covers have extra clearance over the cam gear to clear the VVT cam gear, the Timing sensor is in the same place in relationship to the tone wheel on all the covers.
My 2010 Challenger has 03 Block with the OEM Eagle timing cover on it.
