Just checking and the cam timing sprocket on an early 5.7 is the same as the 5.7 eagle.
Spacing for the pickup.
Now if i change the reluctor wheel for a 32 tooth one and lock the phaser, could i use the Hemi6 and a carb on an eagle engine?
Matt

From what I’ve been able to find it should work
I have to mount my 6.4 vvt to engine run stand and see if it will run
At this point I have swapped the reluctor wheel for the 32th tooth
Also the crank and cam sensor for the older style
And locked the vvt
I used the msd harness for the 09 and up cool packs
I should know if it will run in a few weeks

Exactly what I plan on doing.
Post some pics of your break in stand please.

Most likely your camera setting are to big. Something to do with quality of the picture.
My Samson S7 works easier than posting them from my computer.

If there was a solution to make running fuel injection cheaper would people go for it?

Given that most junk yard engines come with intake manifold with injectors etc it doesnt take much to get them to run.

Going the carb route you have to buy the MSD ign kit, a carb intake and a carb. I presume to go out and buy that stuff would cost like $1000.

I had a comlete 6.4 crate engine and needed a way to run it.

I picked up a 6.4 engine and body harness, pedal, PCM on ebay for $120.
I have less than $100 of connectors, relays and terminals and a few hrs into modding the factory engine harness and making a compatible body harness to make the whole lot run standalone. Just need the PCM reflashed to run stand alone and will be all good to go for around the $300 mark.

A bit off topic but just putting it out there

For what I. Doing the carb is perfect
I don’t get why it’s an issue
I’ve been index/ grudge racing my car for a very long time
With a high compression e85 setup with the LA platform
Decided to more into the 3rd gen deal
And basically have to use intake and a ignition controller
Then back in business
I have a ton of money in e85 fuel system
Also slow a carb down is not that hard
I know every says says to just pull timing with injection and it will slow
It’s not that easy I’m far from a pro but I’ve been around

These engine can/should be used in any enthusiast’s
Needs
different applications will only bring more of a aftermarket
Following
Not everyone has the same goals

And don’t t think I’m a efi hater
I’ll be using the factory efi in my D300
