Had another race Saturday at Darlington Dragway. Only 4 cars showed up for the street car shootout, but we ran anyway. Did a little cruise before the race, which is pretty pointless IMO. Naturally, I drew the fastest car for 1st round...a 4 sec sbf turbo mustang. I got a lil more aggressive w/ my setup, treed him, but he drove right by me by the 330'. Ran 5.60 at almost 126 mph, 1.42 sixty foot on the back tires. I'm still chipping away at it. I was very happy w/ it considering the heat and humidity we were dealing with. Got some good pics to share.

The cuda is flat out awesome!! Looks sick. I’d rather be in the cuda rather than that mustang anyday of the week! Great job.

It will go quicker with less front tire wheelie height One of the Mopar drag race engineers said years ago in one of the old drag seminars that once the front tars are of the ground all the weight of the car is on the rear tars, no matter how high they are When the pinion gear is climbing the pinion gear instead of rotating the axles forward the car is not going as fast as it can forward I'm surprised you have your car working that good though Now comes the hard part to get it to run low 1.30 to high 1.2? in the 60 ft. times My bracket car(1970 Grand Coupe) has ran a best of 1.27 60 ft. with the front tires around 18 inches of the track, it is a chrome moly tube chassis S/P car that only weighs 2750 Lbs. with me in it also

NICE ! ! Looks like there was Chevy , Ford and Mopar in that race … Youll get there soon enough, got the power just need to manage it... Bad A$$ car for sure ! ! !

Thanks yall! Cab...yessir, I know. It's a constant battle b/t bringing the nitrous in quicker and tightening the shocks to keep the front end down. I'm still working on it, so it'll get there eventually. I've been 1.30 previously. Hell it's been 1.32 on motor only. n20mstr...the Cutlass and Monte Carlo owners are brothers. Cutlass runs low 6s (iron headed 383" sbc w/ a plate) and the MC is in the 5s (400+" sbc w/ a fogger). The mustang is a 363" sbf w/ a turbo...Stephen Daurity built/tunes it and it flies! I just keep shortening the ramp and see what happens, lol.

Forgot to mention that all runs so far this year have been w/ the heavy "quiet" exhaust system on it. It's a 4" H pipe system w/ a pair of Hooker Max flow mufflers and turndowns right in front the rear axle. This system adds about 40 lbs to the car. Pretty sure it'll go faster when I take it off and put the 4" Dynomax Bullets right off the headers like I've always run in the past.

Great shots. Saw them first on a smartphone but they look better on a big monitor! The car is outrageous as ever, and I've got to think by now you've inspired several gearheads out there whether they care to admit it or not

Chip,
I am hoping when I get back to work, I can get mine to run half as good as yours....Mine has gone as quick as 6.30 with third gear that was toast and a 1.35 60ft....But no where near what yours is running. I have had it to a couple cruise nights this year and she is running pretty good, so maybe we will see.....Our builds are pretty similar.

Dragula...Yours should run real good! The best mine went NA was 6.05 at 113 mph w/ a 1.32 sixty foot. That was a 9.54 at 140.4 in the 1/4.

Well, I haven't had it to the track in a while...After you blow one up, your kinda gun shy about beating on it. Its real scary to drive I can tell you if you step on it and we have a billet trans in it now. Tinkering with different distributors and closing down the mechanical advance.....
Your running a 1250 carb on yours correct....
PS...Mine didn;t care if the exhaust was on or off....but it was a tinge leaner without it. I just never jetted up.
