Thanks, jon you mean the one behing the block by the distributor gear? kinda shallow and concave? mine were always loose too. i just hammered them in and the flatten and expand. or do you mean the small ones behind the thrust plate at the front of the block

This is the way that that type of plug is installed. Dimple the center to expand the peremeter. Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

mopars4ever I Live Here M Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 13,603 md	Dodge dealer 1821722 superseded by 2863071 $2.90 I wouldn`t chance reusing it as it would be a pain to fix if it leaked. Put the new one in with a little sealer on the edge and dimple as mentioned.
