speaking of 28 inch Moroso's I have a set that is like new and were only run 1 year we had on a 70 Duster I am going to sell if anyone's interested.
Also had them on a 68 Dart, but the 2 inch big block fenderwell headers put an end to that pretty quick.....

This is a 67 Valiant. I took off 3/4" at the front of the wheel opening.plus trimmed back that lip at the bottom so the tire could sweep through there. You also can make longer fender strut rods and push the bottom of the fender out and that helps. I did that on my 71 demon and did not have to do much trimming. I run 27.5 Mickey Thompson Drag front tires. I doubt you would be able to run a 7" wide rim with a tire that 28" tall in any case. If you increase the backspace I think the tire will hit the inner fender on sharp turns or maybe even interfere with the brake line bracket and cut the tire. I would have to recheck this. I am not sure.
BTW, the tire still rubs slightly when turning on my right side about 1/3 the way up the wheel opening, very slightly. But I think if I raised the car back up a little it would cure this.
