if its running a shroud the fan blade should be sticking 3/4 of the blade in the shroud and 1/4 of the blade out of the shroud for best flow
the rad should be seal to the top of the core support to stop the air flow over the top of the rad to more direct it through the rad
I dont think it does it any good close to the rad as it can get like that,IMO
got the hood, rad, belts, upper rad hose, and not to mention the fan
side steped the clutch at 4800rpms and broke a mount....
then went and changed pants
then came back and
I like a direct drive fan too, they have a few sizes for spacers and they are easy to get it in the spot you want
if you used a 1/2 spacer and bolted a direct drive fan blade close to the pully with just enuff room for belts and pully you would gain more room at the rad
and may even be able to fine tune it in a NEW shroud
I used a 7 blade soild fan from a 68 /6 Dart for yrs and worked fine...just dont drop stuff in it
unless ya goota have a clutch fan
