Hey guy's I have a Indy 360-1 headed 422 smallblock. It runs pretty good with the old 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 TTI headers on it. I was wondering if it would be helpful enough on my setup to go with the 1 7/8 W2 race headers on it ? I know I may lose a little on the bottom but overall better ?

I was shifting at 6400 a week ago. It felt pretty good there. I used to wring it to 6700 with the Eddie heads on it.

I was shifting at 6400 a week ago. It felt pretty good there. I used to wring it to 6700 with the Eddie heads on it. I turn my 416 to 7000-7100 rpm.. it pulls hard to that point.. I havent tried going above that yet.. I would believe that with your CI and the revs you turn 1 7/8 would do just fine.. I dough that you would see any loss in torque.. if you do it would be very little.. I assume yours is a 4" stroke EDIT mine is a ported set of W-2s.. my new engine is a 3.79 stroke W-5 and I will be running the same headers

I was a little worried about the long stroke and spinning it that high. TTI says for 550 hp and above and I figure right now we are at around 650 or so.

I have my old W2 1 7/8 hedmen headers on my 360-1 heads. I shift my 422 at 7000 rpm but I'm gonna lower it to 6700 this year because I didn't get around to my planned rebuild on it and this is its 4th race season.

I know the Small tube headers are choking my engine a little but if would pick up a 10th or so it would be worth the cost.

I lucked out and have bought 4-5 sets over the years (one set new in my he box) and never paid over 200.00 for them. Thank God because if I paid big money for them it would have hurt more when I had to take a four pound hammer to them so I could use my Milidon oil pan. I finally cut and rewelded a few tubes so I could get my engine diaper on.

[quote=Dunnuck Racing]I picked up 25 horsepower AND about 10lbs-ft in the rpm range I ran the engine at on my 423" small block going from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 headers [/quo
Thanks , I like the sound of that.
