I'm in the same boat looking for the suede paint in a color for my steering column. It's actually pretty tough to find it. One vendor Instrument Specialties has the OE PPG Duracryl Lacquer for $250/pint in a color. 'spensive pint 'o paintMopaint which is now Kolor Korrect used to sell it in spray cans and it says they have it available on their webpage but when I inquired about it recently they told me it was no longer available. Year One sells the (mostly) correct colors but it does not have the texture in it. If you can find it locally I believe SEM makes some type of textured clear in a can though it may not match the OE suede.

I have never heard of anyone putting the correct suede paint in a can. About 10-12 years ago, I bought a can of it from Mopaint for my old '71 B5 blue Dart with a blue interior, probably the same thing that Andy is looking for. It was dead nuts.

I don't really care about having the correct finish, I'd just like the correct color. It is a race car not a show car. I'd think I'd could find B5 in a spray can somewhere. I've looked at most of the usual suspects so far and I don't see anyone selling the classic colors in a can. Try Year One. I recently bought a few cans from them, the colors are close enough for horseshoes or hand grenades. It's good to have the textured paint on the column though, cuts down on reflective glare.

If the color is represented in a swatch/chip, it could be mixed and loaded in a can. Have had this done before. Most paint shops can do this.

I think I'll send them a part with my 64 Belvedere's light blue and get a metal single stage kit & a kit for the interior. I always had a local paint store match my colors & put them in a spray can. Worked well, but was $75 per can for paint alone. Andy could always see if a local paint store could mix a can of B5 matched to a part sample if he has one.

And I live in rural Arkansas so we have nothing. I was doing under the hood. I did base coat/clear coat and it turned out perfect but you can get the one pass paint.

Bright Blue was on the roof rails.
Dark Blue on everything else.
