Hey guys! The driver side, rear door on my pickup went slowly dead. It started when the key fob wouldn't activate that lock. Then about a year later the window doesn't go up and down, now it's lost the stereo speaker. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

That's what I was thinking. Certainly easier than a BCM issue. Those little accordion rubber tubes are tough!

Wires are broken in the rubber boot.

My 2002 started doing it in 2010, by the end of 2012 only the window still worked, pulled back the rubber boot from the hinge pillar and sure enough most of the wires were severed, the window ones were about half way severed. I ended up drilling out the connector shell but keeping them as that is what retains the boot to the hinge pillar and feeding new wire through the pillar-boot-door and re-terminating with a new connector on either end using a much more flexible type of wire vs the regular PVC insulated wire originally installed. This was all before the Dorman option existed, out of principle I refused to purchase a new harness from chrysler given the price and knowing it would fail again.

$98 on Rockauto plus we get %5 off that. Shipping is about $8 so it runs just about $101.10...
Hey, ten bucks is ten bucks!

Oh crap. Thanks for the post.

My '03 has exactly the same issue, with the same door, started the same way, same same same. I have been putting off looking at it.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this.

Now I have to figure out what the difference is between '03 and '04.
