Well I got my new (to me) 73 Roadrunner (340ci) started yesterday. Now I need to address the exhaust. It has none.

The fender tag has the code for the bright tips. I looked under the car, and there appears to be a set of hangers there, but one appears to be bent. Does anyone have a picture of the exhaust with factory tips for a 73 Roadrunner they could post?

I will be having a local shop bend up a new set of exhaust for it. I would prefer to run Dynomax mufflers on the car. At this point since there is no exhaust at all, I am not sure which part number to order. There are so many different configurations, I want to get the ones that will fit the best. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

-Dave

Here is my '73, mine still had the factory exhaust on it when I bought it. (See before pic) I know the tips I bought are correct, because I put the new ones next to the old ones when I got them. I even was able to use the original tailpipes, they were mint!

This is the best shot I have of the whole thing, with my Dynomax Glass Packs. They sound great!

One more.........I ran headers, but the intermediate pipes are original too. They barely had surface rust on them! I just cut them shorter to make them work with the headers.

Thanks, That is what I needed!

Which tips did you buy? I saw some online and they had them with either the red, or black sections in the slots. How do you tell which ones to use?

My old ones still had traces of red paint on them, so I went with the red ones. I got them on Ebay, they were pricey, bet still cheaper than most of the off line venders.

Your car is really looking great! Mine needs lots of TLC and some interior trim, then I am gonna drive it. Gonna have to find some new AC vents and an ash tray hehehe. There is an AM/FM in the trunk. The slider between AM/FM is broken inside though, it moves with no tension. I am sure I can probably fix it though.

Also gonna replace the door panels and carpet, and seatbelts IF I can find a set of Blue ones.

Thanks again for posting the pictures. Here is one of mine if you haven't seen it. My youngest got his dirt bike helmet and a pair of gloves and claimed it for his own hehehehe.
