Does the bolt through the idler pulley come out? I have tapped on it and no luck. Let me know your thoughts as I'd like to replace the bolt with a new one but having trouble locating a bolt y kit which has it included. This is the bolt which the idler rotates on to tighten the belt.

I have the bracket and idler out of the block and on the bench, but the bolt appears to be held into the idler pulley bracket.

Why do you want to replace the bolt. I think they are pressed into the bearing and a regular bolt will not work anyways. Check out this link.

Thanks for the reply. Not looking to replace the idler pulley or bolt joldiing pulley onto bracket. Looking to get the 5 1/2" bolt out of the bracket which goes through pump housing into block. I have the top one out which is the bolt which after tightening the belt is simxjed down. The bolt which allows the tension bracket to rotate is the one I'm trying to get out.

There shouldn’t be anything holding that bolt in? Maybe just crud buildup. Should come right out.
