The OE guys have ridiculously tight controls on those things, but in the past there have been issues here and there and some "creative thinkers" have attempted sales of less than pristine examples to performance builders at a discount.
It's possible, not probable though.
Other than the above dubious/only remotely possible scenario, they would have caught any issues at the plant. Flagship products like those have got to be right or they go to the scrap pile.
I have to agree with this statement! Could it be, sure, is it the case here NEVER heard of a BGE block with issues like that. But at 1500.00 a pop, easy to fix on their dime. Now if its your part, then your dime. Matt X3!!!

Get your money back. I have had issues getting stuff done when it should be because I need to find some un-obtanium part, none of those parts are hard to find and it's just a short block? Heck you could have just bought a hell cat short block from a local dealer and drop in rods and pistons all done in an evening.

I checked out their site.
It certainly doesn’t appear to be an engine builder from what I can see. No pics of builds in progress, pics of shop equipment, etc.
If I had to guess(and I do have to), I’d say they’re buying the short block from another supplier, or they have a relationship with another shop that performs their machine work.

This is correct A2 doesn't isn't an engine builder. They are Gen3 tuning shop like HHP who uses BES and Modern Muscle uses Seidle Racing Engines. You are better off going directly to the engine builder directly. Be careful with A2

43 years ago a very good friend screwed me over on an engine rebuild. After waiting 13 months for a small block Mopar engine I stormed in his shop and told him to put my engine in a clean shop corner when it was done. He then asked me why I was no longer in a hurry for it and I told him I didn’t want it. He finished building it that week and I finished paying for it. On the way out the door I shook his hand and thanked him and said I would never wait on anyone to build another engine for me. And from that day forward Ive built my own engines. Piss on that being held hostage crap 💩 Same here. When it is machine work only, it seems to get done ASAP

Looks like Barton may be the builder from all the engines they list on their website.
