Does anyone have or have access to a BHJ O Ring Register plate for BIg Block?
I like to borrow it but if it’s only for sale I may consider buying.
I’m building a blower motor for a guy that torched the block and heads when it blew out the gasket so working on getting that repaired and putting O-rings on to prevent that from happening again.
I called Best Machine and they can do it but it would cost a fortune to ship so looking for a BB mopar plate so my local machinists can use. He does them all the time just dosnt have the BB mopar plate.
BHJ sells them but don’t really want to buy one ORP-V8B $650

Just so you know...I believe you can still rent the Isky Oring tool for a good price. I've done hundreds of cylinders with one as the shop I worked at at that time owned one.
Also, you need to Oring the heads as well. You need a receiver groove. As a policy, I always ran the Oring in the head groove if it was aluminum and used the groove in the block as the reciever. We did this because the materiel between the cylinders can get very thin with grooves through them. Without the wore in them, the would fail. Then you'd have to weld everything up, machine the heads flat and Oring them again. The wire in the head helps support those thin areas and they will take more abuse before they fail.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

How did you oring the head with the ISKY oring tool? Put the wire in the block, blued the head around the chambers and bolted them on with about 50 pounds of torque. When you pull them off there is a nice witness mark to follow. Then you put the head in the Bridgeport, indicate it in and grab the tool my boss made and get the diameter of the tool correct. Then I was a matter of lining up over the witness marks and removing materiel. I've been told you can buy a tool holder to go in the mill now. The tool I see was made in the late 70's. There wasn't a tool my boss at that time couldn't make. Edit: I should mention we kept wire from bigger bore sizes to use as the set up wire in the block. When all was done we used the groove in the block as the reciever.
