..... some years ago - VERY FIRST time i ever raced for $$$ - Milan Dragway .... bracket 2 - 800$ Win - some type of special event. UP to that point just raced my street racer at Saturday test and tune.

66 Satellite SW .... 426 street wedge transplant.... near 13 flat daily driver at that point - I had more fun with those “stealthy” cars ON THE STREET than I did with my 121mph through the muffs 62 Belvedere !

I got rear ended by a drunk driver out on the TOP END CLUB .., Thursday nite street races - so I continued that reign on the streets of Telegraph Rd, Woodward Ave and Gratiot Ave for years ..., with a 68 Satellite SW (5 or 6 diff motors. Never damaged or blew one up - just SOLD THEM to peeps I raced or saw me race!

Dual purpose car .... I’d hammer it on the weekends and haul fiberglass to the truck docks during the week. I made close to 20k with that car !

My first ever was running O stock with my dad's 73 Road Runner (executive Chrysler lease that I snuck out) at Milan Dragway. Had choice of $25 or a trophy. I took the cash. First real win was Super Pro at the 1992 a Mopar Nats, $1000. Had a terrible light in the final (.100 as I remember) dumped at the finish and broke my oponent out. Biggest payout? This year's NMCA Dave Duell Classic weekend. $6750

This was back in 1986 I think....was actually a 1 off heads up affair that the then owner of Santa Pod Raceway ran one evening, think it was called the Wynns challenge. Was the only time I ever won any money (£260) in 10yrs of racing apart from some trophies.

Running my '71 340 Cuda street/strip car against a '72 440 Cuda in the final, we were both running 12.4's, he asked me not to use my Nitrous to make it a race, well I thought about it and decided it was his misfortune on having it himself, needless to say I won but did make it look like a race at the stripe, I think I would've won NA anyway as my 60's were good with the 4.30's. Took all the boys down the pub on my winnings for a good drink. Best racing I ever had that night!

First bracket race win was 2013 at Mopars at the Rock running the trophy street class. Was dialing 9.60s...next fastest car in the class ran low 11s I think. Had way more fun than I expected...ran the bracket class b/c there was no heads up class at this race. Ran down two 11 sec dodge vipers, caught em at half track and patted the gas a car length out on them the rest of the way down the track. They both had bad traction problems.
Sure was a rush racing to the finish line having 30+ mph on your opponent.
My car 60 footed 1.32-1.33 all day, ran great and had a blast.

I team up with a friend in 1984 to run his car in S/ST with one of my M.W. 440 bracket motors in his 1970 Duster.
We alternated driving that car, we raced 11 times that year in both Pro Bracket and S/ST and made money with it nine times that year boogie
He won the division 7 Pro Bracket championship at Bakersfield in 1984 and I got beat in the 1/4 finals in Pro in my 1963 A/SA Plymouth 415 HP M.W. car. I think I got around $150.00
We ended up splitting right at $5100.00 with the winner and contingent money from sponsored decals up
He ended up driving for Bob Mazolini in Bobs A/SA stocker later and won the Golden Gate Nationals at the old Sears Point Track up He was a really good driver bow

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

THE BEST WIN for me, was at Ohio Valley. The KOS race that Gary Robbins put together. My whole family was there, My sister lives 15 miles from the track and had almost 20 of her friends there. I was nervous and thought that I was going out first round. It was a heads up race and we won by just making it A to B every time...It was such a great feeling to win it with a lot of luck in front of so many people that came to watch, (friends and family)

....BAD A$$ STREET CAR.....

Super Gas race for decent money long ago. 6 rounds IIRC. 5 red lights and one guy missed the tree bad. I felt like a thief. Somedays you just have to show up.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

My most memorable win will probably always be my brother and I racing in the final for a Iron man. The odds of us doing that again is pretty slim.

I`ve been racing a long time, since the early 80s. I guess watching my friend drive my Dart to 3 Eliminator Wins out of 6 races in 11.50 index and Winning the Track Championship, Myself Winning a track championship in 2013 would be high on my list. My wife doesn`t come racing with me too often, she came to Carlisle with me last year and when I Won the Trophy class in my D150 at South Mountain friday night seeing her jumping up and down cheering top end was pretty special as well as having her in the winners circle with me. It wasn`t a Win but a runner-up that was pretty special to us both: Back in the early 2000s I pre entered the Chrysler Classic race at Virginia Motorsports Park, I broke the motor in my Dart a week or so before the race and my spare motor was in a friends car , he was at the NED Bracket Finals. He came back Sunday and we pulled the motor out of his car and into mine in a couple days my car was back together a quick test and tune at my local track and we were off for Virginia, it took us more than double the time it should have as it rained the whole trip and traffic around D.C. was messed up because it was the same day a sniper was on the loose. i never ran IHRA before, never been to the track and was foot braking against transbraked cars, i dialed 11.80s I Won first round and kept going rounds, the guy i beat first round bought back and i had to run him again in the semis, beat him again to get to the Final, My opponent had me on the tree and i lost but still Won $500. my wife hugged me and said " I am so proud of you, you busted your butt to get here and look how good you did" I will never forget that!
