Does anyone have some good pictures of a Early Hemi SS Damper, the thin damper? Any part number on damper?

What about NASCAR, what did they use with the hemi? Thanks,

The thin Hemi damper (1965 Race Hemi specific) when painted basically looks identical to a wedge damper. Attached is a picture of an NOS 65 Hemi damper and a used 65 hemi damper. No idea what the stock car engines used

So what made the Race Hemi damper different? Aren't the chain cover and timing tab the same for Hemi/Wedge?

The 65 Hemi and wedge balancers are dimensionally the same, Hemi piece is just a better machined, higher quality piece. With a thick coat of paint you couldn't tell the difference. And yes, the timing chain cover and tab are the same

Thanks for the info appreciate it. Do you know if the fuel pump was different or the standard 4024 carter. They do call out a performance version in the DC book. Was that just a 4862.

The Race Hemi fuel pump was a 4024 Carter, not sure on the pump in the DC book. Would probably depend on what year book you are looking at and what Carter offered at the time. The pumps changed slightly over the years

Carter did make a Nascar pump and it is bigger than the pump that came on the street hemis. Not sure if Chrysler put the pump on the Nascar Hemis Motors they build or it is an after market pump sold by Carter.

The Nascar hemi has the Mopar Part number on it. It is significantly different. It is an AC design I thing, made under Airtex. I did wonder what is used for the Competition version for Drag racing though. The 4862 seems to be a number that is a competition version. Since Carter components did not have Chrysler numbers on them, was looking for confirmation if anyone had an original.
