I was in the process of double checking valve spring installed height and found that the spring retainers have to be pried off of the springs. Is this normal? When I measure the I.D. of the spring and then shoulder of the retainer their is about .010 interference fit. These are Comp 911 springs. The suggested retainer should have .010 clearance. I'm thinking the shop may have used the wrong retainer when assembling the heads. It would seem that having the spring and retainer binding like this might cause the spring to break. Does this seem like a problem or is this normal?

Mine push in but not .010, call and ask the shop
but I cant really see it being a problem unless it
cracks the retainer

Thanks for the reply Mr P. I tried calling Comp yesterday (2 times). Was put on hold and gave up (after about 20 minutes) each time. I'm planning on calling again today.
