My axle tubes are all cluttered up with airbag brackets so all I can see is the iron center section. I need to locate the splitter end of a brake hose someplace safe and sturdy. The chassis side hose bracket is not set yet so I can go anywhere that works- I’m not limited by hose length. Seems like a problem racers would know about from running huge tires and short axles?

I don’t want to weld steel to iron so I’m thinking about tightening an exhaust clamp on the driver’s side tube portion of the center section- the part that recieves the steel tube. That way it will be a solid cold connection and also have threaded ends to use as a stud for the splitter.

Is there a standard racecar way to do this or safety considerations I should be thinking about? Only thing I know is make it solid and keep it high on the axle and protected from road debris, driveshaft rubs or breakage, and off the exhaust.

Here’s pics of what I got and why I don’t want to use the bolt that’s under the lower airbag bracket

Just tack it to the center section. Its not going to hurt anything. Guys weld the axle tubes to the cast center section all the time. Way more heat and stress then a little splitter bracket would have.

I don't mount my splitter to the housing I just split it on the body and run 2 individual hoses down to my calipers. This means no brake lines attached to the housing that way you don't have to open the brake system when you remove the rear. Just unbolt the calipers and no need to bleed the brakes when you remove the rear twocents

Split it on the chassis. Run individual lines on the framerails to both sides of the frame. Weld tabs with connectors for hoses on each side and connect them. Make hoses from connector to caliper on each side. That's how most tube cars with really busy housings are done.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
