I just took off the Polyglas tires and put on some other wheels and tires because I'm thinking of draging the T/A to see what it will do. In fact, I want to go up against FY1TA's restored black AAR. Does anyone think yay or nay to racing real Trans Am cars that are very nicely restored? That's only if he has it in him to do it of course.

I guess there is a good argument against doing it, but the point is don't think that every car you see out there racing are doing so with clones. You may be very surprised.

The only thing I would say is put the Bias Ply's back on they will probably work better then you think.

Some cool pics of some nice cars! I'm surprised. I really thought this would be more taboo. It's good to see! Still no word from FY1TA though.

Have you ever been to the pure stock/fast races? I live halfway in between the two tracks in MI where they run them at, about 50 miles to each track. Most of those cars aside from being hammered on are beautiful show cars.

Original Hemi Car. It gets 20-25 laps/year put on it. Not as nice as most of the cars on this forum, though.

Many of the nice low mileage cars that are known including my old A12 were raced a lot for the first few years of their life. The guys who knew what they were doing didn't hurt them for the most part. Take Bob K's car for example. Things can happen but are less likely to be the case at the strip than it would be doing the random road tests that we all do on the street! If you didn't get a chance to enjoy the experience back in the day, this is your chance to enjoy it now. Of course, some of us enjoy just showing and bench racing them too!

Those A12 guys are all B@D@$$'$ and they throw a mean party and man do they have a good time RACING If these things were meant to be show cars Ma Mopar would have put fins and way more chrome on them, not light weight FIBERGLASS HOODS or aluminum front ends, giant wings, Dana's........

That's almost laughable . The AAR has had quite a few floggings on the 1320 .
Get you some M/T drag radials and we will see who can really drive a stick car at the dragstrip !
