I am going through a box of 1968 side markers, and I see 4 different kinds:

1) Amber lens with "bevel" in the chrome bezel
2) Red lens with "bevel" in the chrome bezel
3) Red lens with a flat chrome bezel
4) I also found 1 Amber lens with a flat chrome bezel

I always though that the Red lenses should accompany the flat chrome bezel for the rear, and the amber lenses were in front with the beveled chrome bezel.

Are there really 4 different types of side marker lenses? Which is correct for a 1968 Barracuda?

Thanks!

Some have square bezels also, like a '68 New Yorker - http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1968/Quick%20reference.jpg

It is all about make, model & body type.

Darts had the beveled markers, Barracudas had flat.

For 68 marker lights, the round ones anyway, there are two bezels. A flat and beveled (or peaked). It depends on what car they were on. Cars like the 68 charger, where the marker light was placed on the body line, the peaked housing is used. On the Road Runner, where the marker is on a relatively flat surface, the flat housing is used. I think the dart also had the marker lights on the body line. So peaked housing there. Barracuda, like the Road Runner, had marker light on flater surface of panel.
