Thinking about getting a new Aluminum Hemi block for my next engine build. What is the differences between the new KB block and the Indy Max block. My engine will be a 605 all motor running e 85 street engine.

Indy blocks made from 1980'S folding lawn chairs.

KB blocks made from aluminum that was transported by covered wagon.

I think either block will be fine for your application. The KB is a stronger block for more serious (1000hp+) or boosted engines. The Indy block needs finish machine work. Hone, line hone, deck that adds to its cost. I think you will be close cost wise with either one. I personally don't like the World Products blocks. The main support is no where near as strong as a Indy or KB. That's important with 4.75 stroke.

The Indy block will make your life miserable in ways you can't even imagine.

The KB block is love.

Do you want to ruin your life or live in Utopia?

I am continually amazed and amused by the "Indy" comments.

I wouldn't buy anything Indy when beautiful parts are available elsewhere.

Indy does have some good MOPAR products, the trick is NOT to deal with indy!Marsh performance is a dealer for both indy & KB. Bob George is also an Indy dealer. You can never get hurt dealing with either!! bow

NOT to influence your call but the KBs are going up to 7495 at the end of THIS month. Just a psa for anyone thinking about getting one soon. SAVE yourself some hard earned loot.

I'm with the general opinion. For a water block, KB is pretty much the gold standard.

I am a drag racer only any more. I've beat on the KB stuff to the limits of my smarts (not a great deal) in NA, nitrous, and mild blown stuff. They seem to take 1500 hp without getting out of shape. They will take another 500, but they start to show what they are at that point. Also much of any detonation above 1500 really puts it to them. Indy is far below those abilities. Not that they'll fly apart, just things move around more.

I've got a new KB coming, but I'm getting out of the cast stuff this winter, and going billet in my faster car.

X2. Also the Indy blocks are the worst for cooling on the street.... and oil return, and lots of other stuff lol

How do you use yours? Streeter or track only?
