Should there be a grommet or bushing where the door lock knob (the push/pull thingy sticking out the top inside of the door) threads onto the rod? Or does it just sit loosely in the hole?

I think the A body used a cheap clear plastic ferrule and they broke pretty easy.

67's had chrome steel ferrule's and 68-up had plastic...
