to settle a discussion
How thick is the area that slides over the lugs on the axle
in other words, how far will it push your wheel towards the outer fender area for tire clearance
The lips of fools bring them strife, and their mouths invite a beating.Proverbs 18:6

My particular kit is 1/2 inch thick. Adding 1" overall width to the axle, something I almost forgot to consider when doing my Dana swap.
Its interesting Al's are only .25. This was a wilwood drag race kit for a Dana/8.75 and they are no doubt .5"

Maybe the difference between race brakes and street brakes. I measured two sets both race sets and both the same.

Friends front rotors are 250s and we questioned him on the same thing about having a car maybe to heavy for the rotors to dissipate the heat when stopping at the top end of the drag strip in a hurry. Cars weight is around 2800lbs. They have been on the car for a long time with no problems but it only sees about 50-75 passes a year at most.
