The trans will have to be changed. V10 units use the diesel bellhousing pattern.

As long as you have everything from the donor truck as mentioned, all of the connectors, harnesses, computer etc. It should be a doable swap but not easy work. Looking at my V10 it looks like the cab would have to come off of the frame in order to get the engine out but maybe not, without the core support it may go far enough forward to clear windshield & firewall.

I wish you were closer I'd buy that truck and swap a Cummins into it. That's what a lot of people do. The Cummins outlasts the body and no one can afford the gas for a V10 truck, so they are in good shape and have all the HD stuff on them. I think you'd be better off selling it to a Cummins guy.

Could a used oil pump housing be utilized? Somebody somewhere has the fix for this. Considering it was based off the magnum v-8 I find it hard to believe the oil pump housing is unique to that engine.

if the pump is really like a buick pump there MIGHT be a repair kit ,buick had one that used thicker gears and a spacer and different cover,it came with thin brass shims to use when gettin the gears setup correctly might be worth lookin into if there are no aftermarket covers available, have you checked the guy in arizona that sells discontinued nos parts? cant think of his exact name, but try google arizona parts,it should pop up
my ladder of success is missing some rungs
