Tucson AZ,
Just looking for clarification on what side of the engine mount bosses the motor mount bracket attaches on a 75 Dodge D300 w/440. I'm getting ready to swap my motor and it looks like the last guy installed them wrong. The motor mount itself is trying to flex back towards the firewall and the passenger side valve cover is all but in the blower box. The passenger side is currently on the backside of the engine boss and I'm thinking it needs to be moved to the front. Just looking to make things better and curious how it is supposed to be from the factory. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys! -Trent

Wouldn't moving the bracket to the front of the boss move the motor further to the rear?

Something sure sounds wrong. may the brackets aren't right?
can you post some pictures?

D300 mounts are 2wd and should look like these..

If your brackets are offset looking, they are likely 4wd brackets and will make your motor sit back some.

Not sure what set-up that is, but you simply cannot move the bracket to the front as the lugs are different sizes.
My guess... that is so the bracket can only be installed one way.
Might be your brackets are wrong as mentioned above.

The brackets look correct. Maybe look to see if there's another hole in the frame (where the biscuit bolts in)

It's hard to see in your pics, but are your brackets slotted (like the ebay set) where the biscuit bolts to them?

Just thinking out loud but is it possible that something ain't right on the trans mt end that is pulling the eng/trans (& the rubber showing) rearward?

Dang, you're absolutely right. I remember noticing that awhile back. Forgot all about that. That takes one item out of the equation I suppose. thumbs

There doesn't look to be any other holes in the frame. My engine mounts are slotted like the ones on eBay though.

I'll take a look tomorrow. I remember when I replaced the mounts years ago, (10+ years) I fought the transmission mount and passenger engine mount for a bit trying to line everything up better. Obviously it's been ok for years but, since I'm swapping the motor now I figured it's as good a time as any to try to make it as good as I can. I'll update you when I get time to put eyes on it again.

Thanks for the input guys. Much appreciated. -Trent up
