Wow, I thought I updated this more often. I got the engine fired up, and drove around the block a couple times on open headers. Engine runs like a top. I installed the Summit 2.5" exhaust kit, and the mufflers from the kit actually make it sound really good. Maybe I'll make a sound byte this week. I had some trouble with my RPMs. Got a whole bunch of ideas from Moparts members - kickdown, torque converter slipping, bad third gear, etc. It turned out that the tach was on the wrong tach setting (for four cylinders), and was showing about double RPM Because I didn't figure this out until AFTER I got home from Baconfest and Mopar Alley, I left the Demon at home this weekend and took the Mini to the shows. I missed my deadline of having it ready for Baconfest 09, but at least it turned out the transmission is alright Anyway, I hope to get some pictures and video this week for y'all.

Good to see you're still plugging away on it. Glad to see you didn't sell it. Keep up the good work.
I'm also glad I didn't sell it.

I think everyone feels the way you did at some point during a long project.

Hmmph, I should have updated this earlier... I did end up getting nice BBP steelies for the front, thanks to a FABO moderator, GTXperience. Later, I found a '74 dual-snorkel air cleaner at a swap meet, and decided it'd be the perfect candidate for a feaux-'71 340 air cleaner: I also purchased a BBP 8.75" rear from a 68 Coronet. It's a 2.94:1 742 open case. Should hold me plenty, for now. I kept the 10x2.5" drums in the rear, but rebuilt them. nothing much else was wrong on the axle except for the brake lines, so I just threw it back together with a coat of brushed-on Rustoleum satin black Upcoming, I will be pulling the entire drivetrain, installing a Firm Feel or Steer and Gear power box, rebuilding the torqueflite (leaky seals), and painting the motor orange. This should all happen before April or May.

That's cool about the iPod. I haven't messed with Stereo stuff in a while and I thought about doing something similar in my Challenger. Thought about hiding an amp and rigging an iPod to it but when I talked to some of the stereo guys at Best Buy they said it wasn't possible. Didn't seem that big of a deal to me. What amp did you use and how did you connect it?
