Oh, after almost 9 years at MP I am pretty familiar with that.
I added it to my open issue list, engineer ordered them but he had no vehicles to try them on...however I got the chance to try them on an unmolested 1966 Satellite 383 4 barrel with all the factory looms, shields, etc still in place. After they were installed the end user comments were: "This is the most perfect fitting set of plug wires I have ever seen, what are people complaining about?".
Will they be perfect for a 1970 440 6 pack road runner? Maybe not.
I believe later model wires became longer over time, but that is from memory. The majority of customers most likely owned slightly later models than '66.
All this led to me later digging up a late 70s generic Mopar OE big block wire set which I can dig the number out for (have it somewhere at home). Those are all super long and will fit everything but will be sloppy on most cars. they will require taking the dist. ends off and customizing but at least there is a ton of wire to work with. Through OEM mopar parts, most of the big block wire sets all superseded to this one last known number. It's probably ns1 by now but who knows.
All these gyrations, just so a person can have screaming orange wires with a Mopar logo. Hey I still fly the flag somewhat, but c'mon
Myself I just can't stand brightly colored plug wires of any kind for anything I own or work on....If I am buying them, they better be black.
