What is the benefit of the 470 over a 451?
My guess is: 19 cubes, slightly lighter piston and slightly longer stroke.
Is that it or is their something more I'm missing?
Thanks. Both the 451 and the 470 are great combos. Always remember there is no substitute for cubic inches. More air more fuel and you can still rev like a small block with a 470

Wait till you read this. Take your pictures, email them to yourself and when you hit send it will give you 3 or 4 choices on what size to send them,I hit the second smallest(maybe medium size) and pull them out of the email and they post here then. Brian Congrats, is this not for one of your vehicles?
Posting pics is easy. I use several different devices apple, android, pc, whatever, it all works the same. The main problem is most phones are set to take huge pics these says and Moparts seems to prefer 640x480..... This build was for a friend. I have tried to resize the pictures with little to no luck. Other car forums automatically resize the pictures you post. When I built my first 505 ci in 2014 posting pictures on Moparts from my phones was easy. Not anymore.

My build to a T,just got the RPM and dropped the 400 block off at the machine shop, told him spec the pistons to work with the 240s. Brian Not bad for a engine with a smallish hyd rolller and a dual plane intake. Sorry if I missed a previous thread but I'd like to hear specs as well. Planning my own 470" with Trick Flow 240s, hydraulic roller and a Performer RPM intake shooting for 600 hp.
