Those look a lot like the Cranes for a BB Mopar, except the Cranes didn’t have the skirted wheel.

What is the function of the notches in the upper part of the band? Looks like it would bleed pressure with higher lift cams

What is the function of the notches in the upper part of the band? Looks like it would bleed pressure with higher lift cams The notches are where the oil feeds are. The lifter wheel can't go any higher than the top of the journal so if the notches aren't exposed at that position then the design is safe. I built a tool once to check that but I haven't measured these lifters yet. I'd be surprised if Gaterman missed that detail.

The full circumference lower looks strong, but must come at the cost of a smaller dia wheel. Is this a needle bearing lifter or bushed? I wonder how you calculate rated duration loss/ gain with different wheel sizes?

Some of the minor features of that lifter almost have an OE-ish appearance to me. Have to ignore the tie bar for the illusion to set in, though. Let us know how they work out... Gaterman was a Ford supplier for some part in the past but I don't think it was lifters. Anyway, he has been thru the OEM drill so he probably learned some lessons.
