I know Strange used to make a 4.88 Pro Gear for the 8 3/4" in the 742 case. The old Strange P/N was RPO3987486E but they don't know if they'll ever be in stock.

Anybody else make them or someone have one in stock??

Any other ideas (other than using the '789' case)?

Thanks in advance. Al 612.963.4540 cell

US Gear produced that ring and pinion for Strange Engineering. US Gear has been in financial trouble for several years. The business just changed hands, so who knows if the new owners will even keep the same product line.

Unfortunately, I think you are out of luck.

Thanks for the info. Still looking for a NOS gear that someone may have sitting on the shelf.

Has anyone used Tom's Differentials recently for heat treating (annealing) street gears? By recently, I mean since Tom moved.

Any other good heat treaters?

Thanks in advance! Al

Tom's new warehouse is in Northern Idaho.

The last time I checked, he didn't have any 8 3/4" pro gears in stock.
