Mountain Dew for fire suppression. Who knew?!  I often have different guys go with me to the track. I always make it a point to tell them where the extinguisher is in the car. We were at a small nostalgia race and someone else's car caught fire just down from us minutes after I told my buddy about the extinguisher. We both looked at each other and I said "See?!"

Are you serious, none here had a hand in any fail in those vids. Obviously people like "fail" vids or youtube would not be FULL of them. Let me guess, the nitrous nipple wasnt a good fit for you? Just like boost, nitrous bites ya from time to time, few are immune. Some just beg for it. Glad you find enjoyment in peoples cars getting burned up .

Since our government funds research for just about everything imaginable, why not this.
Pick a HP level. Let's say 1800hp for a start. Which, long term, is safer, and or more cost effective to operate, NA, or nitrous.
An NA of that power can really only go 20-30 maybe, runs before major freshen up. Rods, pistons, springs, bearings, VJ, (maybe lifters unless 1.062)then maybe 100.
A nitrous motor can be a 1000 hp na tough piece to start with. No extreme rod angles/stroke, or super light pistons + pins. Can have a way less violent cam, heavy center weighted crank ect.
For sure people build super extreme engines, then spray hell out of them, and that's another story.
Most backfires happen from valve train issues, as well as leaking solenoids, and driver error.
I'd bet 1800 on spray would go twice as long as 1800 NA. Also for 25 percent the cost.

No . I just didn't like the I love NOS when it goes wrong.
I don't think you should love it when someones hard work and money go up in flames .
Maybe it wouldn't bother me if it was I hate when NOS goes wrong . How about “ I hate when people who don’t know what they are doing, blow their stuff up with nitrous”?

Its funny you say that, when I was the one that ran to a guys aid while in the staging lanes still with stitches after a recent surgery and I put out his carb fire...I paid for that I can tell you. No, its bad, and I could not imagine if it were my car. But if I race, I have an extinguisher in the car. It always worries me it won't be enough. The common thing I noticed in many of the clips: -No extinguisher at all....Or water, even worse yet. -No one shuts off the power... -Trying to re-start the engine after it flooded and it still has the NOS armed... -And a good percentage seemed to have no clue at all....

I've seen pics of guys with trunk mounted kill switches also have a secondary cable going towards the driver seat. Do you guys just have one of those big red buttons that you hit to kill power?

I do now,always the required master out back and now a full master inside on one switch I've seen pics of guys with trunk mounted kill switches also have a secondary cable going towards the driver seat. Do you guys just have one of those big red buttons that you hit to kill power? if possible, even on street cars [which i have the most experience with on wiring jobs], i try to have a duel system. you never know when you will need this feature, and if you need it, you will be glad you have it !
