Which would you use, AFCO, Viking, other?

I will be using these on a rear half car with a 4 link and also on a Aftermarket front k-member conversion.

The car will be 90% street driven 10% track with 800hp gen 2 Hemi.

I hear good and bad about most brands, so just wanted to see what most use.

I know you can get better(ie:santuffs) might not be necessary or in the budget.

I have a OLD set of QA-1s 0n the rear of the
race car.. they dont make them any more but
they work very well with my 4 link and they
are just a single adjustable... I had them
rebuilt about 10 years ago.. I have Strange on
all 4 corners of the Rampage with a ladder bar
wave

Given those choices - AFCO. We've used their Big Gun valving on some cars - that ate up normal off the shelf shocks like they weren't even there - with good results. Strange are also good. It doesn't take a ton of horsepower or potential 60' numbers to get to the point of needing some custom valving beyond what off the shelf shocks provide.

Settings for best results on the street and the track will be way different.

Street miles are hard on drag shocks. Maybe a set of cheapies for the street and a good set of DAs for the track.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I would have to go with Afco. Call and ask for Eric he will take care of you.

I fogot about the Strange coil overs, looks like they should be on my list to look into.

Mr.Pbody you were able to make SA QA-1 work on your drag car? I have a pair of older SA QA-1's new in the box that I thought would not work for my application.

Do the Strange need custom valving also? Will they last on light street use?

Afco. You did not ask, or mention it, but make sure you go double adjustable.

Been very happy with Viking shocks. Not so much with Aladin.

I should mention that on the rear of my car runs a pair of 20 year old Koni doubles. An oil change has been all the maintenance they've ever needed. Car repeats 60 fts within thousandths on a 10.5 tire makes over 900hp.
