The old 440 has still got some winning left in it .
Went to local nostalgia drags today , fathers day .
Weather was iffy and we lost 2 qualifiers to drizzle .
1 qualifier , 3 rounds of chicago shoot out then a final .
Car ran 10.71-10.73 with 2 passes backed off for wins
Air was good , second day of spring , git under 600 da in final .
Those TF270 heads with dominator have woken this old short block up. About 1.7 tenths still with only .520 nett lift cam

Finally fitted a solid cam,
stepped it up a bit more
3690lbs through the mufflers
New World block 3780lbs 10.278@130.80 . Wowser 10.253@130.24 footbraking from 1500rpm

Thats some gain  ....what did you have on there before head/carb wise? I got 5.2 tenths and 7mph from going from stock 906's to 260cfm 906's back in the day.....

Thats some gain ....what did you have on there before head/carb wise? I got 5.2 tenths and 7mph from going from stock 906's to 260cfm 906's back in the day..... I had CNC stealth heads, Victor intake, ProSysytems HP1000 carb . Best had been 10.88 mostly mid/high 10.90s Just swapped these off the 505 , haven't changed jetting . Sixties the same , 1.50 , but I now have 30"radials and leave @ 4000 tbrake . This motor always preferred the 28"radial , probably go a little faster if I refitted them but I have consÃstant traction with the 30s All you guys have been a great help over the years to get to this point Tex
