there were three ratios available, 4.10, 4.56 and 4.88. none were "standard" there should be a label on the hood that will tell you what ratio came with the truck, also there is a tag in the diff cover.

Probably a 4.10 as 3.54 would be the only other gear offered. There should be a data sheet affixed to the underside of the hood. That would be correct for the 89 and up trucks but the 3.54 wasn't available in the 1 tons until 89. Or until the cummins came out. OK, I stand corrected. My 84 crew cab dually has 4.10's, but I am sure they were changed at some point.
The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

there were three ratios available, 4.10, 4.56 and 4.88. none were "standard" there should be a label on the hood that will tell you what ratio came with the truck, also there is a tag in the diff cover. ^^^This info came direct from a 1986 Dodge Service manual^^^ All ratios were spec'd by Eng/trans combo. Wait this just in...found my '92 service manual! First just for clarity... all specs below are for D350 DRW and a Dana 70. The gear options in '92 were...3.54, 4.1 and 4.56 This is due to the 46RH OD trans. 89-91 (non intercooled) had 3.07 with the 727 only and 3.54 & 4.10's with manual trans. All the above information is supported by the Chrysler service manuals for the given year stated.
