We are rebuilding a 2.47 ratio 4 speed and having trouble finding a second gear--Can second gear from a 2.66 ratio 4 speed be used in a 2.47 ratio--there the gear count (34)---what is different between the 2 gears--

In order to change any gear you would also need to change the bottom cluster to one with the corresponding gear. Since these are one piece clusters, I think you're out of luck.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

Yup - as was said you have to swap the cluster and the gears between them. Not just the cluster, or just the gears.

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.
