I installed a TA forward manual valve body with low band apply last spring. Transmission worked flawlessly until near the end of summer, was out cruising around pulled up to a light downshifted into low gear and the car shudder'd pretty hard. Stop, try all my gears...everything seems to work except low gear, but by the time I limp it home, reverse is no longer working aswell.

Drop the pan, shattered the rev/low servo. Mmmk, order up a billet one, toss it in, fixed right? Reverse works, but the car will not move forward in low gear. Feels like I'n trying to do burnout, I can take my foot off the brake and hit the gas and nothing happens other than it gets up on the converter.

Pulled the trans out last week tore it down to find the low/rev band obliterated, and had infact started to eat into the drum. Had a good friend go thru it, replaced everything with new parts, red clutches, keloene steels, 4,2 lever, boltin sprag etc...well got it all back in tonight and whadda ya know its doing the same thing. We're thinking the valvebody be causing my issue, but open to any suggestions at this point.

Since you replaced all the faulty components and the problem remains, the only common part left is the valvebody. Call Turbo Action and talk to Paul Forte.

Especially if you performed an air check after all those repairs and that went OK.

It is hard to say what came first, the chicken or the egg, I mean the servo failure or the valve body failure. But I would put another valve body in to check it, even a stock one for trouble shooting.

And don't continue to downshift into 1st gear with low band apply while the car is still moving... Too much wear and tear, etc.
