It's with great sadness that I report to all members this morning that one of the greatest names in the Racing Industry has left us for a safer place.
Jim Deist of Deist Safety, a name synonymous with safety equipment and responsible for saving thousands of racers from injury with his Industry changing innovations making the sport of auto racing safer for everyone.
Jim will be missed by his family, friends, racers and this entire industry. Deist Safety will continue operations as always, that's what Jim wanted.
There will be a Memorial Service for Jim at the NHRA Museum Pomona, Ca. April 8th, 2009
