Do anyone of you have pictures of your Ladder bar/coil over set-up on your A-bodies w/ stock frame rails? Did you have to cut the floor? I'm getting ready to do the install on my 66 dart and its easier to get ideas from pictures of others who have done it.
Any pointers for a first timer?
How many holes in the front mount, most of the time you cant get the bar angle low enough. Try to set up the front so at least the bottom hole will give you a downward angle of a few degrees. You will need good adjustable shocks for the rear to control the body seperation

I haven't bought the stuff yet. I've been looking at the CE crossmember. I see their front crossmember has 3 holes while others have 5. Could I get away with 3? When I mount it, do I want to mount it so the middles hole is level with the ground at ride height?
I was planning on using either QA1 single adjustable or Alston Varishock single adjustables for coil overs. The car won't be purely a race car so I don't need the double adjustables. At this point, I'd rather have the car on the ground and driveable.
Thanks for the pics Al. Did the upper coil over crossmember go through the floor, or were you able to keep the trunk floor pan stock?
Anyone have anymore pics??? It is very much appreciated!!

Here's a pic of my 70 Dart with a radical set up.Will it work I will find out.Didn't want to alter floor so I put them forward of axle.If you do this you will have to got to a higher spring rate.Mine are at 125#.Test and tune is all I can do to find correct set up.Traditional is behind axle housing straight up and down.If I need more advice Dave Morgan is a teacher at UNOH and lives less than 10 miles from me.Chassis builders I'm sure will chime in on this.
Yeah your spring rate is based on the ratio difference from the rear to the front of the axle and the percentage of angle you have the shock at. Also you will need a stiffer adjustment due to them being forward of the axle

My car has an Alston chassis, with the rear coil springs in front of the rear. It works fine.

Thanks for the pictures guys. I have one more question.
Since my car has leafs still, can I put the car up on jack stands and leave the leaf springs on to hold the rear where it goes and just tack all the ladder bar and coil over brackets to the housing? It seems like it would be a lot easier getting everything lined up that way.
And if you couldn't tell, tihs is my first ladder bar install.
Yes you can do it that way but make sure the pinion angle is correct with your weight in the seat and make sure the axle is square in the car. Have the stand under the axle housing

i put ladder bars and coil overs on my 71 dart. I did just that...left the leaf springs on to keep the rear end in place... i removed the rear shackles that allowed me to raise the rear...or lower the car to set the ride hight..
also made and installed frame connectors out of 2 x3 box tubing...I did not have to cut the floor but i tied the roll bar into the frame connector ..
