I have some 69 charger rear taillights. Some have a thin silver stripe on the lenses and others do not. Why the difference? Is it an R/T thing?

I had an original 69 R/T and it did have the painted silver stripe.

The stripes just wear off. They were there originally.

The 70 lenses did not have the silver paint...I am thinking you have a pair of 69's and a pair of 70's.

didn't the '70s have small reflectors in them that the '69s didn't?

70's had the reflector, 69 didn't...

IIRC the only 70's that didn't have the silver pinstripe were the ones used behind the finish panel (R/T 500 models)IIRC the 70 base models used the 69 lights...

Think that is true but I also thought that there was a cut in of parts with or without the trim bezel

IIRC just the 70 XH models used the 69 lights with the chrome trim and silver stripe,70 XP/XS models all had the 1pc rear trim panel which can't be applied over the chrome bezels found on the 69 lights....

Only half year on the 70 reflectors......early cars before about Dec 15, 1969 or so did not have reflector.
