Question. Garage talk with a truck buddy. I told him of a kid I went to school with in 1983 - 1984 he had a 1978 black step side short bed 4x4 440 power wagon. Parents bought it for him. It was gorgeous with a double chrome roll bar and yellow KCs on the bar. I knew it was a rare truck even back then. I was into mopars. Already had my 70 Challenger 6 pack car. But he claims only about 50 made of those trucks. Is that for real. I never would of known.

That's probably close. The figures seemed to be in the 100's for a lot of the 440 trucks, This was an original 76 440 shorty.

Im beginning to question if 440 half ton pickups were really that low of production of around a 100 or less per year. I have a 74 2wd half ton factory 440 pickup, also have a 77 Ramcharger 4x4 factory 440 and in our local pic a part yard a 78 shortbox half ton 4x4 factory 440 pickup just came in yard in June, too sad that truck shouldn't even be in there. I also remember up in the Rapid City area in our mopar club a guy had a 77 or 78 half ton pickup with a factory 440 in it.

People save the 440 trucks. It’s like a roadrunner versus a Belvedere

I want my fair share
