I just got 36 dodge pickup.
cab, doors, and glass, and box with tail gate

I want to chop the top and channel the cab omn the frame.

what the best way to chop the topp?? and keep the door glass orginal

channeling the cab wont be hard as thetre is now floors in it cause I have to reconstruct the bottom 6 inch of the whole cab and doors.

be sure you want to chop AND channel it, that really limits how much room there is inside the cab and you might not fit or be very comfortable.
what frame are you going to use?
I like to Z the frame instead of channeling, it lets you keep interior room but still lower the truck.
as far as the chop, I dont know what you mean to "keep the door glass orginal"???
doing glass for that truck is easy as its all flat glass.
when you do the chop, lets say you chop it 4" then you will have to cut across the top from door to door and add about 2-2 1/2" so that the windshield area will line back up.

check out how I chopped the racetruck in the link below to see what i mean. Ron...

Don't chop it. They look much better without that being done.

I have a 36 pickup....I channeled it 4.5 inches and I am running a sectioned Mini-van seat basically sitting right on the floor pan..I have decent foot room and I have a ton of head room. I have been kicking around the idea of chopping it 2-2.5 inches....just to keep the proportions spot on. Heres a pic of how it sits....

Dont have camera! sorry it wil be done by the end of the summer and brought to Mopars in the park in minnisota next year for sure, might even get a blower for it as well.

has 295/50/15 on rear sticks out 10" past cab side, front will be about 4-5" wide on steelies.

I used a 1972 truck frame cut down and a drive sahft from a 2wd ramcharger, radiator is out of a Kaiser and head lights are from a late 30's chevy truck.
