Is there any kits out there for this truck.
I've heard that this truck uses C body spindles. Is this true?

you can use a 76 new Yorker rotor/bearings/caliper on a 83 truck as it is still the small wheel bolt circle.

cant say on the spindle?

if it had 10" drums in rear you can up those to 11"x2.5" and a HD 12"x3"

or disc brakes for the rear.

I have no issues in my 88 440 truck with stock manual brakes 11x2.5 rear drums.

Welcome to the world of old Dodge trucks! You can't just open a catalog and your wallet to get what you want.

That said, the stock brakes in good condition are fine for commuting and light hauling. What's your goal?

BTW, the 12" brakes are for 8 lug rear ends only. The hub is almost 4.5" in diameter, no room for the small lug pattern, even the 5*5.5" pattern doesn't clear.

They offer a bolt on kit for the wilwood D52 caliper.
So it will be the 11.75 stock rotor for now and couple that with a good size rear disk.
It will need to be set up correctly.
I'm hoping for less than 3500 lbs
Down the road I'll look into making some hubs and radial caliper mounts.

I am interested in a caliper bracket as well. Our trucks share the 1.25 rotor width with the viper front rotor. Doesn't seem it would be too hard to fashion a bracket to fit.

Ebooger has a bucks down how to article in this months rag. Uses Jeep Liberty rear rotors/parking brake on and 8 3/4. Looks to be pretty simple and the part I like best- easy on the wallet.

Google "Industrial chassis inc"
They have a bracket to mount the D52 caliper to our spindles.

Lol
Hit home then scroll down until you get to the adapters.
It actually has some good info.
